Hasina is capable from virtual peer learning

Hasina Chaudhary is 37 years old. She lives in Bhajani municipality-4, Kudi. She has 4 members in the family including her husband Gangaram Chaudhary, daughter Bipana Chaudhary and Prabesh Chaudhary  is her son. Her daughter Bipana Chaudhary is RC child cod No. 0838 and she is 14 years old and read in class nine. Hasina is doing vegetable farming and her husband is carpenter.

Before economic they were had to live in different place because her husband was learning a carpenter skill. In that time Hasina has a small daughter so she hasn’t work any hard work and her husband goes to learning the carpenter work with voluntarily. So there was too much problem for survive their family.

One day she was informed about the virtual peer learning session is being start in her community. She has join in virtual peer learning classes organized by Economic Recovery of Women and Migrant Returnee (EWMR) project funded by DFAT and World Vision International Nepal. She got virtual learning session training about agriculture from her group on 16 February, 7 April and 31 May-2022. She has learnt how to download agriculture apps. In that classes she has also got chances to learn about 3G cutting of cucurbits vegetable, disease and insect treatment Idea, making organic fertilizer (Jholmal)  in the training. Hasina has never got before that type of training in vegetable farming.

Now she is doing vegetable farming in 3 kattha and applied the technology and knowledge which she has got from peer learning session.  She has invested 27000 rupees for purchased of vegetable seeds, fertilizer, plastic tunnel and soil filling. She has sold bitter guard, cucumber, Bean and okra and earn 70000 (seventy thousand) income from vegetable in one season. She is spending her income for children’s education. She said ” before vegetable farming, I used to buy vegetable from market for house hold consumption but now even after consumption, I’m selling vegetables.”  She is happy and satisfied from vegetable farming. She has planned to expand her farm in 2 kattha also. From farming she has planned to buy a cycle for her daughter and android mobile also for her. She is doing savings 1000 rupees per months in cooperatives. She thanked to DBS, DFAT and WVIN for providing chance to participate in virtual peer learning sessions.
